I always enjoy seeing how other homeschool families spend their day and love to get new ideas. My son is 11 and is starting to find his own way as well. When he finds something he’s really interested in, we go with it so it’s also less hands-on than previous years.

I, too, am outsourcing this year! My older two are in high school and things are changing a bit. My oldest is taking three classes online this year. It’s so refreshing to read or hear about another homeschooling family that I can relate to! Thank you for this. My three are 14, almost 11 and 4. Definitely my 14 yr old daughter is completely independent with her studies, which is nice, because my 11 yr old has dyslexia, auditory processing disorder and dysgraphia. So he definitely needs my one on one attention. I totally love that you allow your children to be who they are naturally and not who everyone thinks they should be. Homeschooling has allowed my children the blessing of not conforming to “standards” of what traditional school tried to make them before. They have matured and grown in an unbelievable rate since I solely have been homeschooling them. I just wish I would have done it from the beginning!

My daughter just turned 15 and my son will be 13 soon so they’re very close in age to your kiddos. Like you, I’m often now in bed before them and the first one up in the morning. I’ve also outsourced A LOT this year and have watched my children eagerly pursue their own interests in their free time. Honestly, I feel like more of a mentor and partner in learning which has allowed me to relax more and truly enjoy the ride. Turns out we established a great foundation and these kids are confident in their learning abilities after all. 😉 You mentioned how much you’re enjoying this stage of life with your kids and I feel the same way!

I look forward to this series every year and I think it may be possible that I was around for the first one 10 years ago. This is the series that I send the link to those who are newly homeschooling or curious about what it is all like. I love the variety and I also appreciate the honesty of each family’s journey along the way. I’ve never been brave enough to write my own. Maybe this is the year?
